Airborne- Warbird Gunbay CellsMany historic warbird aircraft operating today were originally designed as interceptors -carrying modest fuel loads and heavy armament. Today, these historic aircraft can trade armament for increased fuel capacity, allowing greater transit distances. Advanced Fuel Systems have designed gun-bay installations, (each one subsequently approved by the Civil Aviation Authority), utilising redundant ammunition and armament bays. These incorporate pressure feeds, balance transfer, water drains, low-level warning and single-point filling. |
